Question: Write about the Personal Statementfor Nursing Theorists and their Work. Answer: I have been working in the Aged care industry since last 7 years. I love to work with the old aged people and learnt various things from the field. I achieved better experience and qualification. I completed my nursing in Uganda and shifted to Australia in 2006. I found a big gap in the aged care industry and grabbed the opportunity to work in this sector and improve the situation. In Perth, I got placed in various hospitals, which made me able to achieve various experiences in medical, mental and surgical field. According to Alligood (2014), positive feedback helps the nurses to gain more knowledge and become a qualified registered nurse. The residents and the family members helped me a lot to gain more skills by giving positive feedback. I need more patience and skills to serve the old age people who come with various problems. I developed my communication skills and observation power. I learnt about the non verbal communication skills and the use of small sentences to avoid jargon s. I worked with the Dementia and Alzheimer patient. I was responsible to take the complete care of those patients. I achieved positive view to handle critical conditions. I gained the faith and self confidence after working for a long time in this field. I aimed to be the best caring nurse in this field. I started to continue promotion of emotional support to the service users, their families and relatives in difficult time period. I started to work as Phlebotomist as a part time job at Health Scope. This job also increases my knowledge and provides opportunity to communicate and interact with different kind of people. I tried to reduce the tension of them about the specimen collection safety. In health and social care industry, safety and security is the key factor for the wellbeing of the patients (Higgins and Adams 2013). I got the chance to work in Doctors clinic as the clinical assistant. I am glad to get the opportunity because this helps me to achieve my goal. The job helps me to boost up my interpersonal skills. The job is developing my logical thinking. As a nurse, I respect my patients emotion and feeling. According to Alligood (2014), the n urse should maintain the confidentiality of the patients. I also maintain the confidentiality of the patients by sharing the personal and critical information of my patients with the family members of the service users.
